Why give to the Westerville Library Foundation?
One donor says…
“We truly appreciate all your endeavors. Children are our future and they need to love reading!”
One of the library’s longest running programs is summer reading, a tried-and-true tradition that’s existed at the library since it opened in 1930. With 5,246 people participating in this year’s 2025 Summer Reading Challenge, its obvious Westerville community members of all ages are excited about reading. One teen eagerly participated in the challenge this year because, “It gave me an excuse to stay up late so I could read,” she admitted.
The library’s greatest challenge each summer is encouraging summer reading participation, especially from kids. That’s why at the start of summer reading the library provides every elementary school student in the Westerville City School District with a free book. In 2025, thanks to your generous gifts, the Westerville Library Foundation enthusiastically supported this project in full!
Westerville Public Library gave free books to over 7,000 students due to your financial kindness. Your support of the Westerville Library Foundation extends the community impact of longtime library programs like the Summer Reading Challenge, 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, and the story trails at Westerville parks. Will you help expand literacy and library services for all members of the Westerville community through your gift today?
Donating online is the simplest, most direct means of support. The Westerville Library Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization meaning your donations are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.
